A tech founder has been found in his New York condo with his head and limbs removed and an electric saw next to him, police told Business Insider.

33-year-old Fahim Saleh’s headless torso was found in his seventh-floor Manhattan condominium at 265 East Houston Street on Tuesday, an NYPD spokesperson said.

Saleh was the founder and CEO of Gokada, a motorcycle-sharing company in Nigeria.

“We don’t know if he was deceased prior to being dismembered,” the spokesperson said. Saleh founded a ride-sharing app, Gokada, in Nigeria before moving into venture capital. He lived in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

The NYPD spokesperson told Business Insider: “We have no motive at this time.”

Saleh was discovered by his sister after she had not seen him for a day and went to the apartment, the New York Daily News reported.

The NYPD spokesperson told Business Insider that Saleh’s apartment covered the whole floor, and that an elevator exits directly into his apartment. According to the Daily News, he bought the apartment for $2.25 million in 2019.

Surveillance camera footage, taken on Monday, shows Saleh entering the elevator and being followed in by a suited man in a hat and gloves with a mask over his face, according to the Daily News’s report.

On leaving the elevator, Saleh fell immediately, possibly either shot or stunned, the paper said.

Saleh was originally from Saudi Arabia and born to Bangladeshi parents, according to a blog profile. He co-founded Adventure Capital, which invests mostly in the developing world, the paper reported.

Friends, who were not named, described him to the Daily News as a self-made millionaire who was “extremely smart, ambitious, very kind.”

His Medium posts detailing his path as an entrepreneur describe how he turned an early profit with a prank-calling website and moved on to found other projects such as Gokada, the motorcycle-sharing app company, in Lagos, Nigeria.

Gokada, where he was CEO, posted a tweet saying: “We are deeply saddened to inform you about the sudden and tragic loss of our founder and CEO, Fahim Saleh. Fahim was a great leader, inspiration and positive light for all of us.”

“Still can’t believe that he’s not with us. This person was more than brother to me. This is the biggest loss,” said Aziz Arman, co-founder of another of his companies, in a LinkedIn post.
