Arlington Developing 20-Year Transportation Master Plan

ARLINGTON, MA — The town is seeking resident feedback on various aspects of transportation and mobility in Arlington, including walking, bicycling, public transportation, driving, shared mobility and micro-mobility. The town is developing a 20-year sustainable transportation plan titled Connect Arlington.

The survey is available here. A virtual public forum and additional opportunities to engage will start in June.

Goals and recommendations for Connect Arlington will be developed to prioritize short- and long-term actions for projects, programs and policies to achieve the master plan’s vision. It will focus on all aspects of transportation and mobility in Arlington.

Arlington has also created a Sustainable Transportation Plan Advisory Committee made up of advocates, interested residents, business owners, and town staff. Three focus groups advised the committee on specific topics related to transportation, with more planned in coming
weeks.

The town is committed to continuing inclusive public engagement, and is modifying its
engagement strategy as a result of the coronavirus crisis.

For more information, visit the website of the Sustainable Transportation Plan Advisory Committee or contact Daniel Amstutz, senior transportation planner in Arlington’s Department of Planning & Community Development, at 781-316-3093 or damstutz@town.arlington.ma.us.
