  • Prince Harry has recently filed official documents for his Travalyst initiative.
  • The Duke of Sussex didn’t include his royal surname, Mountbatten-Windsor, or his HRH title on the forms.
  • One of Meghan’s royal patronages recently removed every reference to the duchess being “HRH.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have now stepped down from their former positions as senior royals, and moved to Los Angeles with their son, Archie.

According to reports, Harry continues to work on Travalyst, his new sustainable tourism initiative, but with one significant change. According to the Daily Mail, the prince has filed paperwork for the initiative, but has “dropped family name Mountbatten-Windsor.” Instead, the royal lists his name as “Prince Henry Charles Albert David Duke of Sussex.”

As part of Meghan and Harry’s deal to step down from the royal family, the couple agreed not to use the word “royal” or their “HRH” titles in any of their business endeavors moving forward.

It’s unclear if the way that Prince Harry has styled his name on this recent application has anything to do with his decision to step down as a senior royal. After all, the prince has an impressive number of names, and it’s entirely possible that his surname simply didn’t fit on the form, or that it made more sense to style it this way.

However, changes are definitely afoot for the prince. When the Duke of Sussex attended the Travalyst Summit in Edinburgh in late February 2020, the summit’s host, Ayesha Hazarika, revealed, “He’s made it clear that we are all just to call him Harry.”
